I started geocaching as something cheap to do with my son, who was only 4 at the time. I was newly divorced, broke, and trying to make sense of my life. Geocaching Promotion: Hidden Creatures
Geocaching.com has announced another upcoming souvenir promotion! We started seeing hints a few weeks ago, and this week more details have emerged. The promotion is Hidden Creatures and looks to be a bit simpler than the last couple promotions. Unlike previous promotions, there are no Friend League points and no crazy algebraic equation based on cache type and favorite points used to calculate points. This promotion is pretty much as simple as you can get. Find a cache, earn a souvenir. The more caches you find, the more souvenirs you earn for your geocaching.com profile. That’s it. My Top 30 Favorite (active) Geocaches
Favorite points. Geocachers are granted one favorite point per every ten finds. Do you award them as they are intended? Or are you like me and have hundreds stockpiled? Like I’m waiting for that cache find that was just a bit better than all the others. I don’t know why I have so many saved up, other than the fact that I really don’t find that many that are truly spectacular and worthy, in my opinion.
